Frequently Asked Questions

A: American Heart Association Cards expire at the end of the month, two years from when you took the course.  Example, 3-14-15 to 3-31-17

Q: Can I take a renewal course if my card has expired?

A: AHA States in their Program Administration Manual that if an individual expires there is no grace period.  Taking a renewal course is up to the discretion of the course director.  If they do take a renewal and fail any portion of the course they will not have the option of remediation.

Q: Is it okay to be late to a course?

A: It is not ideal for you to be late, courses tend to start promptly and much material is covered throughout the course.

Q: Can I miss any portion of the course and still pass?

Q: What are e-cards and are they valid?

A: No, attendance at the entire course is required in order to pass the course.

A: An AHA eCard is the electronic equivalent of a printed AHA course completion card and can be provided to students as an alternative to a printed card. eCards are valid course completion cards and can be presented to employers as proof of successful completion of an AHA course. eCards are available only for provider-level courses in the United States.
